Description

Winter First Aid 10 - 12pm - This hands-on class empowers participants to feel confident, prepared, and connected to the natural world—even when the temperature drops. We will cover Cold Weather Emergencies: Learn how to identify signs of hypothermia, frostbite, and other cold-related illnesses, and know what to do when someone needs help. We’ll also explore how understanding and respecting nature is a key part of staying safe outdoors. Participants will develop a deeper appreciation for the land and learn how to enjoy Alberta’s winter landscapes responsibly.

Fire Starter Making 1-3pm  - In this class participants will learn about what makes good sources of tinder and kindling for making the best possible fire. We will cover the opportunities and challenges with fire-starting in less than ideal conditions.  We will then make our own fire starters using natural materials that you can take home to use to light your next fire (Safely).
