Ursa Homeschool - Knife Skills

Ursa Homeschool students are invited to register for this program. 

Knife skills are a core skills of basic survival and wilderness living. Our knife skills class will give students the opportunity to learn about different kinds of tools, followed by knife safety. After students have learned the basic elements of knife safety, they will learn two different methods of using knives to process wood. We supply all tools and supplies. Students are welcome to bring their own fixed-blade, sheathed knife to use in class, although they will be asked to keep knives remained sheathed until after the knife safety portion of this lesson. We do not use folding knives in our classes, and students are encouraged to keep theirs at home.

Time: 1:30 - 3:30 PM

Location: Edworthy Park, Picnic Site #1

Ages: 5 - 17. Parents and younger siblings are welcome to join their students, free of charge;we ask, however, that students are given the space to fully engage and participate in the program. 

Cost: $22/participant

*Cancellation Policy: we do not offer refunds or credit for cancellations or no-shows, and we do not transfer payment to other classes. In the event of a weather watch or warning, we will be in touch with families to reschedule classes. Participants that cannot make rescheduled classes will be offered a refund.

*Please check the weather on the day of class and dress accordingly. This class requires students to wear long pants, preferably not leggings. Please, no open-toed shoes or sandals.
