Char-cloth Fire Starting

Learn about the history of charcloth and how it is made. Participants will be able to make their own char-cloth that they can practice on in class and as well bring home.

As the process of making and use of char-cloth requires patience and some finer motor skills it is recommended for participants 7 and up. However if you have a 5/6 year old that you, as a parent, would benefit from the class I will leave that up to you.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own material for char-colth. What works best is anything 100% cotton and thick. Jean material is perfect as long as they don't contain any oil-based fibres. So if you have any jeans that don't fit then cut them up into 6x6 inch squares to bring to class. Canvas also works as well.  If you don't have materials to bring, no worries at all as I will supply them.
